In the orchestral world, Campo has held the position of Acting Associate Principal Flutist with the Houston Symphony and has performed as Assistant Principal Flutist with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. She has also served as a longtime principal substitute with the New York Philharmonic, New York City Ballet Orchestra, and New York City Opera Orchestra, performing in principal flute, second flute, and piccolo positions. Her extensive recording work with the New York Philharmonic includes major orchestral repertoire by Ravel and Stravinsky.
A versatile musician, Campo has been Principal Flutist for eleven Broadway productions and currently holds that position for Wicked. She has also performed and recorded for television, film, and commercial projects, including Nickelodeon’s Wonder Pets! and The Backyardigans.
A passionate advocate for contemporary music, more than twenty solo and chamber works have been written specifically for her. Beyond the classical world, she has collaborated with a remarkable range of artists, including Ray Charles, Michael Jackson, Tony Bennett, James Taylor, Stevie Wonder, Sting, Aretha Franklin, and many others.
Campo graduated as valedictorian of her high school class at age sixteen and earned degrees with honors and distinction from both the New England Conservatory and Queens College.
